BIO

Emma Collins is a costume maker who specializes in corsetry and historical reconstruction. This practice is fueled by research in Dress History, Anthropology, and material studies. Collins graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019, receiving a BFA with an Art History and Fashion Design focus. She received a professional certificate in Collections Management for Costume & Textiles at California State University Long Beach in the fall of 2023 after completing an internship in the Costume & Textiles department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

Collins has professional experience in the fashion and film industries, working as a freelance costume designer in Los Angeles, with a background as a studio manager for Chicago-based label Production Mode and an apprentice under Corsetiere Gerry Quinton of Morúa Designs. She is currently the owner of Blue Fine Goods, a line of historically inspired wearable designs and digital sewing patterns.
